Dedicated to the education of the consumer about beeswax and beeswax candles.
We work hard all day long in the Summer months to bring back nectar
to our family in the hive to make into honey . We eat some honey to make
some beeswax to make some honeycomb where we store the honey for the Winter .
It takes a lot of time and energy to make beeswax . It upsets us to see
how some beekeepers and candlemakers overheat our beautiful creation which
turns it dark brown , and what stories they tell that mislead the consumer
as to where this off coloured beeswax comes from.
I hope to dispel a lot of the inaccurate urban myths surrounding beeswax
and beeswax candles and educate the consumer as to what is the truth .
It takes 2.6 million floral visits to produce 1 lb. of honey. www.honeycouncil.ca/how-to-make-a-pound-of-honey
100 million flowers will only produce about 50 lbs. of honey ,
not enough food for one honeybee colony to survive for one season.
To help the honeybees we need to plant a lot more flowers.
